The update creates a more modern, residential feel using design inspiration from the Japanese art of kintsugi, where one repairs broken pottery with gold epoxy. Eagle-eyed return guests will notice changes immediately—starting with the carpeting in the guest corridors, which now features a rippling pattern, suggesting a pond of koi fish. The refreshed rooms feature quartzite coffee tables, new carpeting with aubergine hues, and custom sofas in a dozen different patch-worked upholsteries.
